It has just been announced that Adele will be performing during the X Factor final, along with Coldplay and One Direction, who will also be putting on performances. We’re not sure what magic Simon Cowell used to persuade the legendary singer to be on the show, but the real question is will she be performing with one of the competition’s finalists during the duet portion of the evening?

A source from X Factor shared how thrilled they were to have Adele making an appearance, saying that they have “been trying to make it happen for weeks. Adele is a phenomenon and now only adds to what will be an epic night.”

Adele seems to be looking forward to the gig herself, and earlier this year she had even expressed possible interest in performing with one of the X Factor contestants on the show – as long as she didn’t think they were “rubbish.”

Remembering Ella Henderson who was a part of the singing competition in 2012 but didn’t make it to the X Factor final episode of the season, Adele said “If she was in it this year and she was in the final, I would probably do it with her.”

What a night last night! Happy to be in the final, sad to see @laurenmurray go home, i know she will be fine and have a great career!

While nothing has been confirmed, rumors are stirring that Che Chesterman may be the lucky contestant who will be performing with Adele. Louisa Johnson will be performing her duet with her mentor, Rita Ora, while Reggie and Bollie have already expressed their wish to perform with their own mentor as well, Cheryl Fernandez-Versini.

This just leaves Che Chesterman’s pairing as a mystery, and it is believed that the singer may be performing his duet with Leona Lewis, who will also appear for the X Factor final and has revealed that she won’t be taking the stage alone, although she didn’t say who she would be performing with, or Adele, should she decide he’s not “rubbish.”

Other musical acts that we are looking forward to seeing appear at during the X Factor final include the winner of last year’s competition, Ben Haenow, his runner-up Fleur East who will be performing with Little Mix, as well as all 10 of the singers who made it to this season of X Factor’s live shows, including 4th Impact and Lauren Murray.
