Watch Now: First Look At The Finding Dory Trailer

Just keep swimming… Just keep swimming…

Do those words ring any bells? They should, if you’ve ever watched the animated film Finding Nemo. Well, fans of the movie have been given more to enjoy with Finding Dory, a spinoff featuring the titular character, a forgetful and absentminded companion from the original film.

Dory is voiced by Ellen DeGeneres — who, for several years, has been pushing for either a sequel to Finding Nemo or a possible Finding Dory venture. The long-awaited sequel was announced in August — to the delight of DeGeneres — and a movie poster was recently released this week.

With a tagline “She just kept swimming…” — alluding to Dory’s popular “Just keep swimming…” musical chant in the original Finding Nemo film — the poster teases with Dory swimming away, practically off-poster.

Meanwhile, the first movie trailer for Finding Dory has just been released as well, giving fans more details on what to expect, as well as a better background on Dory.

The trailer opens with Dory being found to have been sleep walking — or rather, sleep swimming. It is suggested that the main premise of the story will be revolving around Dory’s family and her efforts in finding them. This carries over the original theme of the first film, in which one family member goes to great heights to find the other in a heartwarming reunion.

Of the Finding Nemo sequel, director Andrew Stanton said, “I wanted to know that if this charming forgetful fish ever got lost again, that she would be okay, that she would find her way home. And at the end of Finding Nemo, I wasn’t confident about that. So that’s when I knew I had another story.”

Finding Dory takes off 6 months following the first film and features a voice cast that includes Diane Keaton, Albert Brooks, Katlin Olson, Ed O’Neill, Ty Burrell, Eugene Levy, Dominic West, and Idris Elba.

Naturally, DeGeneres will be reprising her role as Dory.

Finding Dory is set to hit theaters in June 2016.
