Talks have begun between Marvel and Vin Diesel as the company contacted him for a meeting concerning the voice of comic hero Groot in upcoming film ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’.
The newest in the Marvel movie series ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ which has already began product was still on the hunt for two more CG character voice over for the film to play comic book heroes Groot and Rocket Raccoon. It seems the company is interested in none other than tremendous actor Vin Diesel with a slew of hit movies under his belt including his role as Riddick.
The cartoon comic hero Groot is an alien protector, literally a walking tree who can regenerate through absorbing wood. Though talks are still underway for the famous actor to step in as the voice of Groot Diesel practically confirmed the possibility he will step into the CG role with facebook posts of the original comic hero.
With talks underway, Marvel still has the challenge of filling the role of Rocket Raccoon to begin the voice over portion for ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’. Sources did confirm however that Marvel is aiming for an entirely A-list cast for this production so no word yet on which chart topping male actor has been targeted.
The Marvel film ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ has however confirmed its lead character Peter Quill, one of the comic story’s few human roles will be played by Chris Pratt. The movie is scheduled to hit theaters in 2014 and critics are leering about the big production treatment this lesser known comic is receiving but hopeful that the next in Marvel’s lineup proves to be a big hit.
It is unsure at this point exactly who will fill the final two casting calls as the recent Disney D23 conference went by without any new announcements to the line up. Recent news has also speculated that Diesel was discussing negotiations for upcoming role in Avengers: Age of Ultron.
In the meantime fans of Vin Deisel should make it to theaters for the release of Riddick 3, a part in which the actor has been known since the opening of ‘Pitch Black’ introduced the character onto the big screen. The alluring bad boy hero can see in the dark, part of proud race that fell to extinction. The last of his kind, Riddick has been hunted all over the galaxy and this time returns to a planet of darkness and creators for a showdown gone wrong for his would-be bounty hunters. Riddick releases in theaters across country on Sep.6th, 2013.
