Top 5 features of the Amazon Fire Phone

After months of speculation and leaks, Amazon finally unveiled the Fire phone yesterday. The phone comes with almost all of the features as suggested by the rumors but still the phone managed to impress everyone with its special features.

When it comes to hardware alone, Fire phone is nothing out of the ordinary. The phone comes with a 4.7 inch screen with 720p resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Inside there’s a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor with Adreno 330 GPU and 2GB RAM. On the back there’s a 13MP camera with f/2.0 along with a 2.1MP front camera. Other basic features include LTE, Bluetooth 3.0, NFC, Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac etc.

As one can notice, these are the features that we find in almost every phone these days. So what makes Fire phone different from other devices in the market?

To answer this question, let’s look at the 5 unique features of the Fire phone.

1. 3D Interface

The 3D interface is without doubt the most remarkable feature of the device. Amazon has smartly incorporated 4 different cameras on the phone to add depth and layers to the images presented on the screen. The resulting interface is just outstanding and really practical too.

The 3D feature officially called as ‘Dynamic Perspective’, moves the image on the screen as the user moves the phone. So, the user can literally pan around the image without having to scroll or swipe. While these features really make interacting with the phone fun, it also improves the gaming and navigating experience.

2.  Firefly button

This button will transform your phone into a shopping machine. The dedicated button on the phone will identify QR codes, books, consumer goods, art works and even phone numbers using the device’s camera. Of course, the button will link you directly to the Amazon purchase page, to make shopping easier for you. The same button can even identify songs and videos and will let you buy or stream it from Amazon.

3.  Smart headphones

The headphones that ship with Fire phone will have tangle free wires, so you don’t have to worry about removing the knots like other headphones. Along with the tangle free flat cables, the ear buds are magnetized, so they will snap together when not in use.

4. Finger free navigation

Fire phone will navigate pages on the device with a simple flick of the wrists. So, if the user wants to go to the next page, he or she will have to flick the phone to the right. Flicking the phone to the left would change it to the previous page.

Also, when reading a book, the user will just have to tilt the phone to scroll down instead of using the traditional swipe down gesture.

5.  Mayday button

Whenever someone is having trouble using the phone, he or she can just click the mayday button to get help. The button instantly connects the user to a representative, who can even take control of the device to make sure everything is working fine.
