Taylor Swift is known for giving everyone squad goals, but for the Miami stop of her 1989 tour — which coincidentally fell on the album’s anniversary as well — she took it to the next level, surprising fans with not one, not two, but THREE special guests.
Swift teased fans before the first guest, renowned star Ricky Martin, came on stage. She said, “I’m about to bring out somebody whose album I bought when I was 10.” Martin then performed his hit track, La Vida Loca.
Next, Swift was joined by rapper Pitbull who gave a rendition of his hit Give Me Everything, with Swift covering the lyrics originally sung by Ne-Yo.
The surprises didn’t stop there as Swift pulled out one last surprise guest: NBA star Dwyane Wade.
13 is her favorite number and it’s my 13th season starting 2morrow… #Lucky13 thank you @taylorswift for having me at your concert tonite and for allowing me to welcome you to Miami-WadeCounty!!! Wade gave Swift a surprise of his own by presenting her with a custom-made Heat jersey printed with her favorite number, 13.
“So, it’s official now. You’re part of the Miami heat team,” he said.
Also present during the festivities was Swift’s boyfriend, Calvin Harris. His presence at the concert was immediately noted by fans and fellow attendees, and it was a clear slamming of the breakup rumors surrounding the couple.
This follows Harris’ previously reported dispute against such rumors after speculations of the couple calling it quits were reinforced by their lack of publicity together.
The U.S. leg of Swift’s tour will wrap up this week, after which she will be heading towards Asia and Australia. 1989 will be her last tour in a while, as once it wraps up in December, Swift intends to take a much-needed hiatus.
“I think people might need a break from me,” she said in an interview with GQ. “I’m going to… I don’t know. Hang out with my friends. Write new music. Maybe not write new music. I don’t know.”
After the star-studded success of the 1989 tour, can fans expect an even bigger celebration for when Swift returns from her hiatus? Let us know in the comments below.
