‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens Spoilers’ 2 Things J.J. Abrams Wants You To Know!

Did J.J. Abrams just reveal a big spoiler for the highly-anticipated Star Wars: The Force Awakens?

While the secretive director has been keeping mysteries about the new movie under wraps, he recently divulged what might be the first line in the upcoming film. Guesting on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Abrams revealed that the first spoken word in the movie is “This.”

One word isn’t much for fans to go on, but during press interviews this weekend, Abrams additionally revealed that the second spoken word of the film is “will,” which only leaves fans guessing: “This will… what?”

Seeing as Star Wars: The Force Awakens intends to connect itself to the original trilogy rather than its prequels, fans speculate that the first line of the film could be a classic Star Wars line. Like, say, “This will be a day long remembered.”

Fans can recall Darth Vader telling Grand Moff Tarkin in Star Wars IV: A New Hope, “This will be a day long remembered. It has seen the end of Kenobi. It will soon see the end of the rebellion.” Could the opening line of Star Wars: The Force Awakens be an ode to this famous line?

Perhaps, instead of Kenobi, the line may be replaced with, “It has seen the end of Luke Skywalker,” especially taking into account the many rumors of Skywalker dying in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

In addition to the big reveal of the first two words in the forthcoming movie, Abrams has also divulged whether or not Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be getting a bonus post-credits scene. The answer?

“No, there’s not,” said Abrams yesterday at a press conference in Los Angeles regarding whether or not there would be an Easter egg or extra scene after the credits for fans to feast on. So there might not be an after credits scene, but fans still have the whole opening line speculation to work on.

What do you think the first lines of Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be?
