As we mentioned before, MWC is going to be an interesting event since at least three manufacturers are expected announce their flagship devices at the event. We have already seen HTC send out invites for its special event on March 1 and now new reports claim that Sony as well as Samsung will announce their flagship devices at the event in Barcelona. Unfortunately, both the companies have not yet revealed any details.
Sony’s Xperia Z4 has been making the rumor rounds on the internet for quite some time now. In fact, given the timing of the rumors, it was said that the Japanese tech giant may even unveil it at CES 2015. However, that obviously didn’t happen which pushes the launch to the next big event of the year i.e. MWC.
Given the popularity of the flagship, there have been multiple reports till now which claim to have the real specifications. One report says that the device will have a 5.2-inch Full HD TRILUMINOS display with a version that will have 2K resolution. Other report says that the display will be much smaller 4.7-inches with 1080p resolution and Cat 9 LTE connectivity and IP68 dust and water resistance. Another set of rumors say that the phone will have a 5.5-inch display (one with 1080p resolution and the other version with Quad HD resolution)with Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, 4GB RAM, 32GB ROM 20.7MP rear camera and a 4.8MP front camera. There will be a 3420 mAh battery with Qi Wireless charging. If these specs turn out to be true, the upcoming Xperia Z4 should be pretty hard to beat by other flagships which will be announced later in the year.
Even for the rumored Samsung Galaxy S6, we have multiple specifications. One claims that the phone will have a qHD resolution display with an octa-core 64-bit processor and 15.9MP rear camera. Another report claims that the phone will feature a 5.5-inch display with 2560 x 1440 resolution, Exynos 7420 processor, 3GB RAM, 32GB ROM and Android 5.0 Lollipop OS. For camera, there will be a 20MP and a 5MP shooter at the front and the back respectively.
Unfortunately, no one can confirm these specifications unless both Samsung and Sony make their phones official. But if these companies follow the tradition of upgrading their latest flagship with the best hardware, then most of these rumored top end specs can end up in the upcoming flagship devices.
