Even though the flagship device is not yet available for sale in most countries, the Korea Times reports that the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge have received a total of 20 million pre-orders from wireless carriers.
Of the 20 million orders, 15 million are for the Samsung Galaxy S6 and 5 million for the much more expensive dual edge display Galaxy S6 Edge.
The S6 is priced at 700 Euros, while the S6 Edge will retail for a much higher price tag of 850 Euros. Naturally, the pricing is for the devices without any contractual commitment.
It’s no surprise that the new Galaxy S6 and the S6 Edge are getting so much attention. Samsung has incorporated the best tech specs that are currently available in a smartphone packed in a body that’s better than any other Samsung flagship released to date. The new S6 is exactly what Samsung fans hoped it would be.
The company’s Exynos 7420 chipset is one of the fastest mobile processors to date. It is built using a 14nm processor which is much more power efficient and advanced than Qualcomm’s best offering, the Snapdragon 810. What’s more, the body is metal plus glass, which gives it a premium look. In fact, both the front and the back are protected by the shatter proof Gorilla Glass 4.
Moreover, the 16MP rear camera with OIS and the 5MP front shooter makes sure that photography enthusiasts won’t be disappointed with the phone’s camera performance. To top things off, value added features like an improved fingerprint sensor, Samsung Pay, and muti-standard supported Wireless Charging clearly makes the Galaxy S6 one of the best handsets in the market right now.
