Samsung Galaxy F images spotted online

samsung-galaxy-f-leak-3-574x420Last month, LG unveiled its premium flagship, LG G3 which managed to impress the critics. As rumored, the device came with top of the line specifications and features including the new 5.5 inch display panel with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and pixel density of 534 PPI.

The new phone from LG managed to outdo rivals like Samsung in many categories, however, that just may be for the time being as new rumors state that Samsung is working on a premium device with high end design profile and specifications which could be the company’s answer to LG’s flagship.

Initial rumors claimed that the device will be called as the Galaxy S5 Prime, the successor to the current Galaxy S5, however, new reports state that the device will be called as the Samsung Galaxy F. Although details about the device are still scarce, some images of Galaxy F have been spotted online.

These images say nothing about the specifications of the device; however, it does reveal that the smartphone would have very thin bezels which make the display look quite big. Rumors state that it would come with a 5.3 inch display with a resolution of 1,440 x 2,560 pixels and such thin bezels would help Samsung reduce the overall size of the handset. The source states that the device would be slightly smaller than the Galaxy S5 owing to the thinner bezels, but it’s still not confirmed.

Another striking difference is the metallic textured back. Samsung has always opted for a plastic finish in all their Galaxy models and this would be one of the first devices to feature a metallic back cover, if these images turn out to be true.

Also, the phone is said to have an asymmetrical design, with the top of the handset being more curved than the bottom. This is the first time we are hearing about an asymmetrical design and the exact purpose of this peculiar form factor is not very clear.

Although the pre-production units run Snapdragon 801 Soc, the source claims that the final product would ship with a Snapdragon 805 SoC. The device would be waterproof too, like the Galaxy S5 and would be IP67 certified.

The exact release date of the device is still unknown but one can expect it anytime around September when the company will release the next Galaxy Note phablet. Until then, stay tuned to the website for more information on the upcoming Galaxy device.
