Samsung Electronics has just announced the launch date for its 7-inch tablet that is made specifically for children. The device manufacturer said its Galaxy Tab 3 Kids would be released to the market on November 10. However, pre-orders for the new product would be accepted beginning November 1.
The kid-friendly tablet was initially unveiled in the last week of August. Back then, it was revealed that the new device would come with a number of Galaxy Perks, including a $10 credit that could be used for purchasing downloads of apps, movies, music, and e-books in the Google Play store. It would also come with three months of membership on Hulu Plus, a year of free Wi-Fi access via Boingo Mobile, and two years of use of Dropbox storage of up to 50GB.
The new device is designed and marketed particularly for the incredibly tech-savvy and smart young children who often use their parents’ tablets for playing. The Galaxy Tab 3 Kids would encourage learning, engage users, and foster creativity in a highly safe and secured environment that could easily be managed by parents.
Games and apps for kids
Using the special Galaxy Tab, children could be occupied for many hours playing games like Wipeout, Toca Train, Where’s My Perry, Disney’s Toy Story: Smash It, and Fruit Ninja, among other titles. Moreover, there would be educational apps available like Dolphin Reader, I Learn With Ocean, Kids Planet Discovery, and Inventions 2.
Parents could leave their kids alone using the tablet. That is because the device comes with parental controls especially over what games and apps could be accessed through the tablet. They could even add new content depending on the wish list, preferences, and requirements of their kids.
Galaxy Tab 3 Kids even has interactive features like addition of costumes and stickers to photographs. This is made more possible with the device’s 3-megapixel camera at the rear and 1.3-megapixel camera at its front. The tablet is also lightweight and comes with easy-to-hold and bright orange case, although this accessory is not free (costs an additional $20).
The special kids’ device would be available in various stores starting next month. Those include Samsung.com, Best Buy, Amazon.com, Fry’s, Sam’s Club, Office Depot, Toys ‘R’ Us, and Tiger Direct. Galaxy Tab 3 Kids would be sold in the market for $230.
