Rovio Sets December 11 Launch Date for Angry Birds GoRovio Entertainment Limited has announced the launch date for its latest Angry Birds game. The Finnish mobile and videogame developer set a December 11 global release schedule for its ‘Angry Birds Go!’ It would be the newest addition to its growing list of Angry Birds franchise games.

The company said it has developed the game as an entirely new game that would be free for all. The new Angry Birds game would feature several modes and features. It is also set to challenge players from all walks of life and all ages. The popular Angry Birds characters would now race downhill using Mario Kart.

Rovio asserts that the game would be a completely new experience for all Angry Birds fans around the world. It would be the first in the franchise to feature high-octane racing and upgradable karts. There would be several new characters to be introduced, all having unique and special powers in a 3D world.

Teasers for ‘Angry Birds Go!’ were first rolled out in June. Back then, Rovio described it as the ‘most thrilling and action-packed’ Angry Birds game yet. Now, the official trailer for the gameplay has already been released.

Feel the rush

In a statement, Rovio assured its fans that the new game would prompt adrenaline rush. Gamers would surely be on the edge of their seats as the characters fling down the race track and go fast and furious towards the finish line.

Of course, to be expected are obstacles and challenges along the race track. Aside from treacherous roads, there would be abundance of mischievous opponents. The crowd-favorite Angry Birds characters would take special powers that could possibly make the race leader lag behind. And as mentioned the ride could be upgraded to a super-fly car from a homemade soapbox.

Teleporting telepods

Another outstanding feature of ‘Angry Birds Go!’ is the integration of Hasbro’s Telepods. Those are miniature toys that could possibly be teleported into the Angry Birds game using the smartphone’s camera. This could make playing the game more fun as the telepods could be considered as ‘out of app’ purchases.

Rovio obviously intends to make the new game widely available to all Angry Birds fans in various platforms. ‘Angry Birds Go!’ would be rolled out in iOS, Android, BlackBerry 10, and Windows Phone 8 devices. This early, the company has already hinted that it would introduce added content and features through future updates of the game.
