Pia Wurtzbach Lost Beauty Pageants Before Finally Becoming Miss Universe 2015

Pia Wurtzbach, the Philippine pride for bagging the Miss Universe pageant this 2015 was not an exemption to hardships and failures just as regular people. In the past, Wurtzbach had lost twice in the Binibining Pilipinas Pageant and for the third time this 2015 finally had landed her in the winning streak which opened a door for her to be able to get into the world-known Miss Universe Pageant.

As a child, Pia was said to have been close to a wall flower for being taller than most girls; whiter and extremely shy. Although this was the case, Pia had a dream of becoming a great beauty queen, her active teen years in show business and modelling in the Philippines played a big role in molding her into the Pia that had just won the Miss Universe 2015.

During her younger years, Pia played supporting roles in Filipino movies, TV dramas and shows. Back then, she was known as Pia Romero. Some of these were ASAP, Star Magic, K2BU, Your song, Sa Piling mo and so on. All of which belonged to the ABS-CBN network.

Although many times in the past, she had been placed as second best, this time there is no stopping destiny in putting the crown on her head.

As quoted from Pia Wurtzbach herself: “If there is one connotation I wanna change, it’s that you have to join a beauty pageant to be successful or inspire. That’s not true. I don’t want to give the wrong impression to girls that for you to become like me, you have to become a beauty queen,” In an interview at a recent event for Cream Silk.

“It’s not like that. It just so happen that this is my job, that I am fit for this job. I am working with what I have and that’s why I am a beauty queen. But it’s different for everybody. You have to be aware of your strengths, your weaknesses, what you’re good at, and the things you are not good at,” Pia added.

“Work your way around them and then you find what your passion is and get the confidence from there. You don’t have to be a beauty queen or to have a crown for you to inspire other people, That’s what I want for people to learn from us, because I realized when they watch us on TV, parang the only way to become like us is to join a beauty pageant… I would hate to think they would stop to try inspiring other people just because they did not make it.”

Pia Wurtzbach certainly serves as an inspiration to the many who dream big but doesn’t have the guts to face failure. She is truly an institution to the Filipinos and to those who seek courage.
