One Direction Fans Threaten To Kill X Factor Singer – Mason Noise Reveals Disturbing Threats

X Factor’s Mason Noise is now under fire after his joking remark about One Direction’s Liam Payne rubbed fans the wrong way. Nick Grimshaw’s former act revealed fans as young as 12 years old attacked him with death threats, telling him to “kill himself” after he posted the supposed insult — meant as a joke more than anything — online.

Mason posted a picture on Instagram of himself and Liam, 22, during his recent stint on the X Factor, the caption of which struck a nerve with Directioners. The X Factor contestant apparently referred to Liam as “one of Harry Styles backing singers.”

“I had a few people say that I made their night and I had some people say there’s a special place for me, but I kind of knew that already,” Mason divulged. “I got told to kill myself by 12-year-olds. I didn’t expect it. Just like you would banter your lads in the pub, it was a funny thing.”

Despite the death threats and hate-fuelled backlash, the aspiring singer is taking it all in a stride and brushing it all of. He ever went so far as to joke that he bought a stab-proof vest for protection. Mason additionally said there are no ill feelings between him and the fellow former X Factor contestants, claiming he’s as much of a fan of them as anyone else.

“If they’re on the radio, I’ll sing along,” he admitted. “I’m guilty of that. They’re great guys.”

Recently, it was revealed Mason’s no-show at the X Factor final — despite other former contestants, like 4th Impact and Sean Miley Moore, being present at the onstage reunion — was allegedly due to a logistics miscommunication.

“It wasn’t really a choice (to not appear). There was some problem with my management and the X Factor and then miscommunication logistically so I couldn’t get there,” said Mason. “It was logistics, the hotel wasn’t sorted so we couldn’t get down there. The show just didn’t get back to us.”
