Every Smartphone company aims to set itself apart from its competitors and with the new HTC One; the company is reportedly trying out with dual cameras for some extra effects. While this news was already leaked a few weeks back, a new leak reveals the exact purpose of the dual cameras.
HTC’s dual camera tech surprised many experts and no one seemed to understand the exact purpose of these two cameras on the back. However, thanks to a new leak from Australia, showing off a Telstra brochure for the all new HTC One (yes, the name is almost confirmed), some important details about the new camera is now known.
According to the brochure, the new tech brings in lot of features to the camera, including better low light photography. Users can select the focus point after they have taken the picture and can add new 3D effects, selective blur or bokeh effect and can highlight selected parts. There are plenty of other ‘after effects’ in the new camera, but that’s something found in most of the high end smartphones these days.
Here is an excerpt from the brochure.
Create vivid images
even in low light and professionally edit memories after you’ve taken the shot.
Choose where to focus, highlight what you love, soften backgrounds and add 3D
Although, the name ‘dual camera’ sounds new, many of the features mentioned in the brochure are already offered by rival smartphones. For example, Nokia first released the refocus app for its Lumia phones which helps the user focus on the picture after it has been taken. Similarly, most new flagships released this year like Galaxy S5, LG G2 Pro and Xperia Z2 come with this feature. So, the exact reason for integrating two cameras on the back is still unsure. Maybe the quality of the images produced will be much better than other flagships or the two cameras will be useful for 3D effects. These are just speculations and the exact purpose will only be known after the company releases it by the end of this month.
Apart from the camera, the brochure confirms dual LED flash, a 5 inch 1080p screen and even boom sound. It also says that the new flagship will come with double tap to wake feature, like the ones found on LG’s newer models.
HTC is expected to announce the all new HTC One officially at the live press conference on March 25.
