Meet The Nexus 5X, Google’s Newest Smartphone

Meet the Google Nexus 5X: the successor to the previously released Nexus 5. The Nexus 5X boasts a series of features that caters to a variety of people; notably, it is the smartphone that has the purest form of the Android operating system without any third party modifications.

The 5X additionally has a lightning-quick fingerprint sensor — similar to Apple’s Touch ID system — that is conveniently nestled on the back of the phone. The 5X’s fingerprint recognition has been praised for its swiftness, especially when next to Apple’s rather lagging and inconsistent Touch ID recognition.

The 5X has something to offer to the trigger-happy picture snappers as well, boasting a 12.3 megapixel camera that produces rich colors and sharp images.

Pricewise, the 5X is no deal breaker, being rather affordable compared to other similar smartphones in the market. At $379, it’s a budget-friendly device well worth the money, with very few compromises and hiccups here and there.

The battery life of the 5X is described to be of average lifespan, and the 5X has been criticized for being inconsistent in performance. However, it is a huge leap from its predecessor, the Nexus 5, and despite its minor setbacks, it has, for the most part, received praise and acclaim, eclipsing those original criticisms in the process.

Google’s Nexus line was originally launched back in 2010 with the release of the first Google smartphone, the Nexus One. It has since then produced several other smartphones in the Nexus line, as well as a series of tablets and even digital media players as well.

What are your thoughts on the new Google smartphone? Would you get it, or are you going to pass on it instead?
