The countdown to Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2014 starts. The annual technology and electronics trade show would be held in Las Vegas, Nevada from January 7 to January 10. This early, we may expect one sure participant in the event—LG Electronics, which is set to introduce its first ever all-in-one desktop PC that is based on Google Chrome on the international event.
The LG Chromebase would logically run on the Chrome operating system. It would instantly draw attention as it resembles the popular iMac from Apple Inc. The new desktop PC would feature 21.5 inches of widescreen HD display, which the electronics and device manufacturer designed to facilitate efficiency and consume less space.
The company describes the new machine as the wave of the future for all desktop PCs. It expressed hope that it would be widely adopted at typical business settings, call centers, hotels, schools, and homes. LG would not like to answer questions regarding the price tag, but just assured consumers that it would be reasonable with a launch date to be announced soon as well.
As an all-in-one machine, it is just appropriate that LG Chromebase has outstanding features. It runs in Intel Celeron CPU processor with 2GB of internal memory, and up to 16GB of iSSD storage. Of course, it is bundled with the Chrome Web Store, which would facilitate access to many useful and popular apps like Gmail, Search, Drive, YouTube, Maps, Google+Hangouts, and Play.
The computer unit has 178-degree viewing angle that is adjustable. This makes video chatting with anyone more convenient and clearer because of the video chatting service offered for free. The 1.3 megapixel camera in the front makes video chats and conferences more possible anytime of the day.
It literally expands available options to customers who prefer faster, simpler, and more secured computing experiences for the home, office, or school. LG Electronics is sure that this latest addition to the Chrome family would be instantly liked by consumers.
The new desktop PC would be showcased on the company’s booth at CES 2104 next month. Most Chrome OS-based machines are in laptop form. The LG Chromebase desktop PC would be a rare device along with the nettop Samsung Series 3 Chromebox. As mentioned, LG is yet to make announcements about other important details like price tag and launch date.
