LG L90 comes with 2,540 mAh battery and Knock Code

LG LIII series Smartphone lineup was unveiled just before MWC and the top end version of the series; the LG L90 is going on sale in Russia and Eurasia pretty soon. As its previous generations, the LIII series is aimed at budget customers who are looking for a value for money device. So, the main attraction is its price tag rather than the hardware specs.

The phone will come with a 4.7 inch qHD IPS display with a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels. It will be powered by a quad core Qualcomm 1.2 Ghz MSM8226 processor and will feature 1GB RAM. LG has provided 8GB internal memory which can be expanded up to 32GB via a Micro SD card slot. Depending upon the location, the phone will come with either 5MP or 8MP camera. This is actually not that surprising given that earlier L9 models followed a similar trend.

Apart from these features, which have now become standard on most budget phones, LG is trying to lure customers by offering a large battery and the latest operating system. LG L90 comes with a large 2,540 mAh battery which is bigger than most rivals in the segment and is enough to last for a day at least. Also, it would run on the latest Android 4.4 Kitkat operating system along with a light LG UI on top.

Another highlight of the device is the new KnockCode function, which is a first for the series. Knock Code is an improvement over KnockOn, introduced last year with the company’s flagship G2. Knock Code allows a user to unlock his device with ease using one of the 86,000 knock codes available. So, the user will be able to unlock his device or even open up an app like music player with a special knock code, which can be anything from two to eight taps. Also, the tap can be on any part of the screen even when it’s off.

“With its competitive specs and exquisite design, we expect the L90 to continue the success of the L Series in the global marketplace,” said Dr. Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of LG .

LG L90 will release initially in the CIS region which includes countries like Russia and Ukraine and will be followed by other countries in the coming weeks. Unfortunately, the company has not yet revealed the price but one can expect it to be around $250.
