LG G3 to launch in May

LG G3 to launch in MayAll this time, LG’s next flagship device LG G3 was under the wraps. However, the company has finally announced a date where it could possibly launch the awaited device.

Most of the rival manufacturers have already announced their flagship devices for the year and LG will soon follow them as it announces G3 in the event scheduled for May 27 and May 28. Although the company has issued invitations for the event to be held in six different locations, it has not yet revealed as to what product it will launch on those days. However, given that plenty of information have leaked in the past few months and LG confirmed that G3 would launch by the end of this quarter, it’s quite likely that the event is for LG G3.

However, there could be one more announcement too. Although LG revealed that it would launch the LG G smartwatch in the upcoming months, the company did not give out details as to the specifications or the features of the device. So, the event could launch both G Watch and G3 simultaneously.

LG G3 Rumored Specs

Although the South Korean company is late to the party, rumors suggests that the smartphone will come with plenty of high end features which could put the existing smartphones to shame. The highlight of the device is expected to be its Quad HD Display which will make it the first smartphone with such high resolution screen. Samsung’s Galaxy S5 was expected to feature this high resolution screen but unfortunately, those rumors turned out to be false. Fortunately, LG has confirmed the QHD display and leaked AnTuTu benchmark too confirms the same.

The processor is expected to be an Octa Core SoC with four 2.2GHz Cortex-A15 cores and another four 1.7GHz Cortex-A7 cores. It will use ARM’s big.LITTLE architecture, so it will be light on power.

Just like the Galaxy S5 and iPhone 5S, LG G3 too is expected to come with a fingerprint scanner. But details about the same are scarce. Some claim that the camera will remain the same 13Mp as found on the original G2 with some improvements in OIS, but other say that the phone will feature a 16MP shooter.

Many changes are expected on the software side too with new icons, flatter design and personalized software features.

All in all, LG G3 looks like a great device and fans will have to wait around a month to see whether the actual device is as good as the rumored one.
