LG G3 teaser video confirms brushed metal finish

LG G3 teaser video confirms brushed metal finishLG will soon release LG G3, its flagship phone for the year. But before it announces the device officially, the company has released a teaser video showing a glimpse of what G3 will look like. The video shows off the same brushed metal finish that was seen in a leaked image earlier, and also confirms OIS among several other things.

The video starts off with a light bulb breaking into pieces in slow motion, which could mean that G3 may come with 120fps slow motion recording. The floating lens as seen in the video confirms the Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) tech as rumored and the black sensor besides the camera could mean an IR focus. This along with dual LED flash will help G3 take excellent low light pictures. The black sensor could be a heart rate sensor too, but only after the device is launched officially this can be confirmed.

As mentioned above, the brushed metal finish is confirmed in the video along with the rear power and volume buttons. The device looks sleek and well-built and to be frank, looks a lot like LG G Flex, without the curved design.

LG is going with the tagline, ‘Simple is the new smart’ and finishes off the video showing the date May 27, when G3 will be officially launched. The video also reveals the upcoming special notifications feature, on top of G3’s screen which could be like Moto X’s active notifications. If this is the case, then these notifications will save a lot of battery displaying only the necessary details at a glance.

Even though the launch is just a few days away, most of the specifications of G3 have been leaked online. LG has already confirmed the 5.5 inch QHD 2,560 x 1,440 resolution display on G3. Such a high resolution could mean pixel density as high as 540 PPI.

The device is expected to come with an Octa core SoC using ARM’s big.LITTLE architecture which is light on power. The camera sensor will be of 13MP, with OIS (as confirmed in the video). It is also rumored that LG will revamp its software UI and will add a number of personalized apps and tools to make the phone more productive.

LG G3 will be announced on May 27 at 6 pm in London, so stay tuned to the website for more news and teasers on the device.
