LG G Watch leak reveals Android Wear smartphone app

LG G Watch leak reveals Android Wear smartphone appGoogle revealed its Android Wear operating system for wearables back in March. Along with this reveal, LG as well as Motorola came forward to announce their Android wear running smartwatches. However, at that time, both the companies did not reveal much about the device and left us all wondering about the specs and the overall design of the smartwatch.

Three months down the line, more details have come up about both the devices, however officially we have very little news. In fact, the only thing we know about one of the devices officially, the LG G watch is about its design, thanks to the recent teaser released by the company.

But unofficially, we know a lot about both the devices, thanks to the various online leaks and today’s leak about G watch, gives us more idea about what to expect from the upcoming Android Wear operating system.

The picture as shown above reveals the LG G Watch being charged via what looks like a Micro-USB port. What’s even more interesting is the fact that the screen is showing a message ‘Install Android Wear on your Phone’, which could very well mean that the smartwatch will be connected to the smartphone via this Android Wear app. Also, below the screen, there’s the traditional icon of the ‘Play Store’ which may mean that the device could come with Android Play store pre-installed.

However, given the small size, it would be interesting to see what all third party apps support this upcoming smartwatch or whether only specified Google apps will work on the device. But don’t expect the G watch to do wonders as a recent spec sheet revealed that the device would not support features like music player.

The other specifications of the device are also not that impressive. The sheet said that the device will come with a small 1.6 inch display with a resolution of 280 x 280. The smartwatch is also quite compact, and measures 37.9 x 46.5 x 9.95 mm. Other features include a Snapdragon 400 processor, 512MB RAM, 4GB storage and 400 mAh battery.

While fans have been waiting for quite long to get more details about the device, it is said that Google and LG will unveil the device at the Google I/O conference to be held next week. Also, the price (around $199) is said to be lower than the Galaxy Gear 2 smartwatch which would definitely attract first time buyers to the wearable industry.
