LG G3 is just around the corner and there’s already good news for the awaiting fans. LG has confirmed that LG G3 will sport a Quad HD resolution display panel in an announcement recently. This means that the display on the flagship will be better than most other rivals and will sport a massive resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 pixels.
While LG isn’t the only manufacturer to reveal a Quad HD panel for smartphones, its display panel is pretty much similar to the ones already available in the market. LG’s Quad HD display measures 5.5 inches diagonally and sports a resolution of 2560 x 1440. The display is quite sharp too with a pixel density of 538 PPI.
In comparison, Japan Display Inc’s Quad HD panel measures 5.4 inches diagonally and sports the same resolution. But JD’s display is slightly sharper and boasts a pixel density of 543 PPI. As the difference is quite small, both the displays would be quite sharp and accurate.
LG claims that instead of cramming more pixels per inch into its panel, the company has focused on solving problems associated with such large size panels. The company has managed to overcome the technical difficulties associated with panels with high pixel density and the performance of its latest panel is as good as a Full HD screen, if not better than it.
The display would also be extremely thin, measuring just 1.2mm in thickness with 1.15mm bezels. So, these Quad HD panels can be used on a number of upcoming smartphones without bulking them up.
Given that LG G3 will sport this display, fans will be excited to get their hands on the device as soon as possible. Thankfully, they won’t have to wait that long as LG has already sent out invites for a special event this May 27 and the event will most likely announce LG G3 smartphone.
LG is keeping press events in six different locations all around the world. LG will first unveil the device in San Francisco, New York and London on May 257th, followed by Seoul, Singapore and Istanbul the next day.
“I’m writing to let you know that LG will be hosting an exciting event in London at the end of May to announce our next big global device after G2,” said LG “With G2 being so well regarded, we have high expectations for its successor, as I’m sure you do as well. So to give our newest device a proper introduction in the presence of as many industry influencers as possible, we will be holding unveiling events in six global cities on May 27 and May 28.” Stay tuned to the website for more information on LG G3.
