Lenovo K920 teaser image reveals 16MP sensor with OIS and metal body

Lenovo K920 teaser image reveals 16MP sensor with OIS and metal bodyIn the past few years, Lenovo released a number of smartphones in the market, however not many of them managed to impress the experts or the buyers. The Lenovo K900 was probably its best smartphone till date but that’s most likely going to change in the coming months.

According to a teaser released by a company executive, Lenovo is all set to release its new flagship device, the K920 sometime around August this year.

A teaser image uploaded by the company’s marketing general manager, Wang Yan via his Weibo account gave us a glimpse of the upcoming smartphone. The image does reveal a few details about the  smartphone like the 16MP Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) sensor along with dual LED flash. Also, it looks like the body will be made of metal, but given that the image reveals only a portion of the phone, we can’t really confirm that.

So, for now, officially we know about the camera and the material which it will be made of, to some extent. However, other specification of the phone have been leaked already and if they turn out to be true, then Lenovo is all set to release a beast next month.

The device is expected to come with a 6 inch panel sporting a Quad HD resolution i.e. 2560 x 1440 pixels along with a powerful Snapdragon processor. Such high resolution puts the device in direct competition with flagships like LG G3, but the larger screen size would reduce the pixel density to some extent.

Inside, the device is expected to feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 SoC clocked at 2.5 Ghz along with 3GB RAM. As for storage, the device could come with 32GB inbuilt. The source did not say anything about a  MicroSD card slot, but we are sure, fans would love to have the option of expanding the storage.

The source did talk about a 16MP sensor, which today’s teaser image confirms. Also, on the front, you can expect a 5Mp shooter too. The device will most likely run on Android 4.4 Kitkat version along with several UI tweaks from Lenovo.

While the specifications look really good and it would be great to have an international release, we can’t really confirm anything about the release date or the availability of the device. Luckily, Lenovo has scheduled an event for August 5, so we won’t have to wait that long to get more information about the device.
