British singer and actress, Rita Ora, 24, has recently stated that she wants to recreate the iconic song with some of today’s biggest stars.

“It’s always been my goal to create another Lady Marmalade,” she told The Sun. “I’m trying to round up the troops. I think it would be me, Miley [Cyrus], Charli XCX — she’d be fun — and Iggy [Azalea].”

While the idea was received with mixed opinions, Charli XCX voiced her support on Twitter, but then later retracted her tweet and deleted it.

Miley Cyrus has yet to comment on the project, whereas Iggy Azalea, 25, has voiced her disdain for Ora’s pitch.

“Please leave me out of the whole Lady Marmalade conversation,” she wrote on Twitter. “I have nothing to do with Rita’s idea and agree it should be left alone. Thanks.”

The last time she and Ora collaborated was on their 2014 hit song, Black Widow.

2015 has been quite the year for Azalea, with her being under public scrutiny several times in recent months. Despite the success of her music, the Australian rapper’s career has not come without controversies. Azalea has an ongoing feud with Harlem rapper Azealia Banks and has been accused of cultural appropriation countless of times.

Lady Marmalade became a popular hit in 1975 when it was originally recorded by American girl group Labelle. While the song has had many covers — including one by girl group All Saints in 1998, which peaked at number one on the UK Singles Chart — it found its comeback in 2001 with a remake for that summer’s Moulin Rouge! film soundtrack.

The 2001 song was covered by Christina Aguilera, Lil’ Kim, Mya, and Pink. Both versions reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 for several weeks.
