After a less than impressive season so far, with a dismal win-loss record of just 2-11, rumor has it that the LA Lakers are already looking to trade out their newest player acquisitions that joined the team this summer; Roy Hibbert, Lou Williams, and Brandon Bass.

Having held hopes that the new teammates would be of great help for the LA Lakers in the 2015 season, they have instead turned out to be a disappointment as the team has continued to lose. Considering that the LA Lakers have been spending far more on their summer acquisitions than they had been paid before, it may not be worthwhile for the team to keep them on.

While the head coach of the LA Lakers, Byron Scott, has been more than patient with the three new players thus far, he has not seen the amount of improvement that he would have hoped for.

Of the three summer acquisitions, Bass has only had limited chances to play so far, while Williams has yet to prove the scoring abilities he showed before the LA Lakers acquired him. Williams has also not provided the boost to offence that the team had so desperately needed and hoped to get from him.

Of the three, Hibbert has shown himself to be the most effective new player so far but is clearly still rediscovering himself, as shown by his 9.1 points and 6.8 boards a game.

Clealy, Bass, Williams, and Hibbert are not living up to their potential on the team, nor have they shown themselves worthy yet of the increased salary they have been receiving since they were acquired by the LA Lakers.

Trading the new LA Lakers team members may not be the end-all-be-all solution that the team so desperately needs, but it could help the team to readjust their chemistry – whether different new teammates would be for the benefit or loss of the Lakers remains to be seen.
