Kobe Bryant Nike Release Kobe 11: Here’s How You Can Get Singed Kobe 11 Sneakers For Free!

NBA star Kobe Bryant has revealed the final signature sneaker of his playing career: The Kobe 11. It is the first Nike basketball shoe to introduce Flyknit by offering a new Flyknit upper with a thermoplastic polyurethane yarn for additional strength.

“Throughout my time with Nike, I’ve obsessed the details of my shoes,” said Bryant in a press release. “For the Kobe 11, we worked to perfect Flyknit for basketball.”

The rest of the shoe’s silhouette remains reminiscent to that of the Kobe 10. Fans can expect Nike’s full-length Lunarlon foam combined with a Zoom Air unit on the heel — a translucent outsole and mesh tongue for breathability — along with new yarn fibers as well.

The first Kobe 11 — called ‘Achilles Heel’ — is expected to launch on January 9 and was designed by Eric Avar, who has worked with Bryant throughout the history of the Kobe line. The red and black shoe alludes to the Greek god Achilles whilst making a nod to Bryant’s own career journey.

Additionally, a graphic representation of the hero can be found on the right heel of the Achilles Heel colorway, with the left heel holding four stitch marks that signify the four feet of threat used in Bryant’s 2013 Achilles surgery. Of the design, Avar said, “The Kobe 11 design represents the whole being greater than the sum of the parts.”

The unveiling of the new Kobe shoe isn’t the only thing to get excited about: Bryant has also recently divulged that he will be hiding 20 signed pairs of the sneakers all over the globe. Clues will be provided, which only means the stealth spots will be kept well-hidden.

“There will be questions that pose as clues,” Kobe revealed during a Periscope event. “Some of the questions will be kind of standard stuff — growing-up questions and stuff like that. Others will be centered around innovation. It’s important for them to really understand the product.”

The scavenger hunt for the Kobe 11s will take place on Tuesday, December 22 — more than two weeks before the sneaks are set to hit the market on January 9.
