Kiwi Parris Goebel Has Something “Huge” In The Works With Justin Bieber

Justin Bieber recently released the dance video for Sorry, his newest collaboration with producers Skrillex and Blood. The video garnered 10 million views in the first 24 hours, and as of late, is now climbing its way towards 39 million views.

But who was behind the actual choreography for the epic dance video?

None other than Kiwi dancer Parris Goebel, also known as the lead choreographer for the dance crew ReQuest.

“It was very last minute, very rushed,” said Goebel of the sudden video project. “They were like, ‘It drops in five days.’ I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, okay,’ so we just went for it, really. There wasn’t enough time to really think about it. We put something together and made it happen.”

While their time limit was five days, Goebel and her team managed to whip something together in just two. She placed dancers from the ReQuest and Royal Family dance crews against a white background and said of the experience, “It is very chill, and it is very fun and spontaneous, like when you get comfortable with a group of people and you can just have fun.”

On how she ended up with the project, Goebel claimed it just fell into her lap.

“They called me. I haven’t worked with Justin [in person] yet,” she told Rolling Stone. “It was kind of simple… They asked me to create the video, I made it, I sent it to them, and they loved it. They just posted it. It wasn’t anything too crazy — pretty straightforward.”

Following the video’s release, Bieber wrote Goebel a rather cryptic tweet that simply said, “More to come,” implying that there may be more Bieber-Goebel collaborations in the near future.

When asked by ZM radio what the tweets meant, Goebel refused to elaborate.

“I’m going to leave the mystery to that one,” she said. “It’s huge, that’s all I can say.”
