Johnny Depp Wife Amber Heard Heads To Court In Australia – May Go To Jail For 10 Years

Amber Heard, actress and wife to Johnny Depp, is due to return to Australia in April — not for work or leisure, but to face trial in court.

Previously, 29-year-old Heard was accused of illegally importing her dogs in breach of the country’s Quarantine Act, which is a strict Australian law designed to keep disease at bay and ordains that dogs entering from the United States must be declared and spend ten days in quarantine.

Allegedly, Heard’s terrier dogs — named Boo and Pistol — were flown to Queensland on Depp’s jet where he was filming Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. Depp may be one of twelve witnesses listed to provide evidence for the involvement of his private jet in the alleged smuggling.

As soon as news of Heard’s misdemeanor surfaced, Boo and Pistol were instantly kicked out of the country. At the time, Agriculture Minister Barnaby Joyce said, “If we start letting movie stars — even though they’ve been the sexiest man alive twice — to come into our nation with pets, then why don’t we just break the laws for everybody?”

Due to her misconduct, Heard will be flying back to Australia despite vowing never to return Down Under. However, the actress claimed in a statement that she “respected Australia’s laws” and was looking forward to “attending the hearing of these matters.”

The court case, dubbed the ‘war on terrier,’ is set to begin on April 18 at Southport Magistrates Court on the Gold Coast. Charged with two counts of illegally importing dogs into Australia, as well as one count of producing a false document, Heard may face 10 years in prison.
