ISIS Threatens To Attack New York City In Newly-Released Video

ISIS continues to strike fear into the hearts of people worldwide and has released yet another threat video to keep the world on edge. Their latest propaganda video claims that New York City is to become one of ISIS’ next targets.

The video opens with various clips of the addresses given by French President Francois Hollande after the Paris attacks. The clips shown end with the president’s words “It’s horrible,” and then a message from ISIS flashes across the screen in Arabic saying “And what’s coming next will be far worse and more bitter.”

After that disturbing footage, images that are clearly of New York City, including storefront shots taken at both Times Square as well as Herald Square, are alternated between clips of suicide bombers strapping themselves with explosives. An ISIS militant holding a grenade then appears, and the screen cuts to black as he pulls the trigger.

Several jihadis also appear in the video and celebrate the tragic events that occurred in Paris, thanking the “soldiers of the caliphate in France” for their “blessed operation.”

Footage shows a bomb being put together.

While much of the footage used in the video is not new, it reaffirms that New York City continues to be a prime target of the terrorist group ISIS and the local authorities are taking the threat video very seriously.

CNN’s Jim Sciutto points out that the New York City images may just be stock photos and not necessarily have been taken by ISIS themselves, and added that “Whether this video is substantial, we don’t know yet. But it’s certainly threatening.”

New York Police Department spokesman J. Peter Donald said in a statement, “While there is no current or specific threat to the City at this time, we will remain at a heightened state of vigilance and will continue to work with the FBI, the Joint Terrorism Task Force and the entire intelligence community to keep the City of New York safe.”
