The new iPhone 6s will be available on stores on September 25. The pre order for the iPhone 6s opens on September 12.
As is its trend, Apple has confirmed two new models – the iPhone 6s and the iPhone 6s Plus follow ups on yester year’s iPhone 6. The new models look no different from their sibling, though there is an addition of stronger aluminum and glass. A welcome inclusion, after the last iPhone 6 got bad publicity due to #BendGate. The other notable change on the exterior is the addition of a new color option – the Rose Gold, to the standard Gold, Silver and Space Grey.
On the inside, the RAM has been increased to 2 GB, with the Apple’s third generation 64-bit A9 processor. An M9 motion processor has been integrated to this setting too, with the A9 being 70% faster than the previous chipset and could handle graphics tasks 90% better. Another interesting highlight of the iPhone 6s is its 3D touch – the touch screen can now sense how hard or how long your press and will react accordingly. A light tap would get you into an app or show a preview while a harder press will delve inside to launch content. This option will work on third party apps too. The Touch ID fingerprint scanner has been upgraded to the second generation that can operate twice as faster now.
The iSight camera has finally been upgraded now to a 12 MP with a 50% increase in pixels, a long awaited feature. The new iPhone 6s retains the same great color of photos. The camera now supports 4K video recording, supports larger panoramas and sports a faster auto focus. The front camera has been upgraded to 5 MP with a special retina flash for low light selfies.
The price of the iPhone 6s is yet to be revealed.
