The India vs Pakistan war has been going on for years and it looks like there are no stopping the killings.
America has gotten a new president, Russia and China are working together, and people are going into panic on an impending World War 3. While other wars haven’t begun just yet, two South Asian countries have been against each other for years.
Both India and Pakistan have accused each other of violating a ceasefire along the Line of Control, which is a de facto border. This has been going on for a few years and the latest is that both countries are pointing fingers at one another.
At Fault For Casualties
According to Aljazeera, the Indian Army said that one of its soldiers was killed via a Pakistani sniper fire in Kashmir. This Wednesday attack wasn’t the only one, as they also claimed that two of its soldiers were killed in a separate attack the day prior.
However, India wasn’t the only one that suffered casualties in this India vs Pakistan war. Pakistan accused India of killing eight civilians in a cross-border firing. A mother and a 10-year-old girl were part of the casualties.
The nuclear-armed rivals’ ties just get worse with every exchange of fire. In fact, the tensions between the two countries have soared since September. According to news18, there have been over 100 ceasefires along the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir after strike.
The India vs Pakistan war has become the backdrop of these protests against Indian rule in Kashmir. Months have passed and nearly 90 people, most of them young protesters, have been killed in clashes with security forces since then.
To those who are unaware, Kashmir was divided between India and Pakistan since 1947. At the end of British colonial rule in 1947, both claim the Himalayan territory as their own. They’ve even fought two wars over the mountainous region.
It has come to the point that there are speculations that India may not be killing Pakistani soldiers. They’ve been accused of killing their own in Kashmir through a staged attack. Whether this is true or not has yet to be determined.
Amidst the world news, the war between these two countries has attracted a lot of attention from the media. Until a ceasefire agreement gets finalized, the two may be butting heads for years to come.
