During the first of their six shows in London’s o2 Arena last Thursday, One Direction was forced to improvise for their audience of 20,000 fans as they experienced technical difficulties with their sound equipment.
The boys, who had to restart Night Changes three times due to technical glitches, kept the mood light and festive, urging the audience to sing-a-long. At one point, Harry jokingly lay on the stage seemingly exasperated while Niall apologized repeatedly, explaining that the glitches were something that had never happened before.
According to the DailyMail, Harry then made light of the situation, saying, “We were caught with our pants down, we were exposed.” Fortunately, the concert’s sound engineers had worked their magic and One Direction was able to resume their performance – much to the delight of the screaming audience.
Once the show had wrapped up for the night, Niall sent out a tweet thanking their fans and again, apologizing for the technical difficulties. The audience didn’t seem bothered though as many of the tweets during and following the concert shared that the foursome had thoroughly entertained the arena for the 20 minutes that the sound system was down.
Others said that they didn’t mind what had happened because it gave them more time to watch One Direction and because the boys had whipped out Niall’s acoustic guitar and performed their latest hit, “Infinity.”
One Direction, who had announced that they would be taking a break after the release of their fifth album, had surprised fans earlier this week by announcing that they would be releasing an album called, “Made in the A.M.” on November 13. But that wasn’t all though, in a video promoting the album, Harry explained that if fans pre-ordered the album, they would get the first song entitled “Infinity” immediately!
The boys of One Direction never fail to surprise us, which makes us wonder as to whether or not the talented foursome have any other surprises tucked under their sleeves.
