Attention all ye Muggles! You can now experience the magic of the Harry Potter book series in a magical manner like never before. The books, penned by J.K. Rowling will now be released as ebooks allowing fans of the Harry Potter franchise to enjoy the animations and to interact with the books.
The digital Harry Potter books series previously only available on the Pottermore site, are now available for download on the iTunes store. Though it has been eight long years since the final installment of the book came out, fans have proven loyal to the series constantly asking Rowling for more.
The sales of the Harry Potter books went up by 29% recently after the novels were redesigned with new covers. In a similar move to enchant new readers, the iTunes’ exclusive editions are subtly enhanced. 200 new illustrations have been added and they are sure to surprise readers by coming to life here and there.
Aunt Marge floats away when little harry blows her up; Quidditch matches are more fun as you interact with the golden snitch; J.K.Rowling’s annotations pop every once in a while to give context for certain passages. The intelligently placed extras don’t hinder the reading experience, but add a lot more to it.
Newly designed modern covers adorn each book. A new dedicated original Harry Potter font called Fluffy has been introduced, too. There are no sounds incorporated into the animations, though.
“I’m thrilled to see the Harry Potter books so beautifully realized on iBooks for the digital world; the artwork and animations in these enhanced editions bring the stories alive in a delightful new way,” says J.K.Rowling, the author of the beloved series.
The exclusive editions costs $9.99 each and are available in 32 countries right now. More languages are to be added soon. Spanish, German and French versions can be pre-ordered now and will be released on Nov. 9 for 18 additional markets.
