Google constantly improves its services through various software updates as well as tweaks on design. It seems that the latest service to be revamped by the search engine giant is its Gmail. That is because the login page for the Webmail service was obviously redesigned. It now looks differently compared to the original appearance of the Webpage.
According to most users, the most noticeable change in the login page design would have to be the placement of the login boxes for account name and password. Those were obviously moved to the page’s middle part. Previously, those boxes were in the right side of the screen.
The Webpage also bears the message: “One account. All of Google.” Regular users of the service could easily tell the difference between the new login page design and the original version that it has replaced.
Simplified login process
In a statement, Gmail said the design featured a more simplified sign-in process. The move was obviously a response to various feedbacks from different users. The service has been rolling out the new design for several months before it was widely implemented.
The new look of the service is also reminiscent of the mobile app for Gmail. But obviously, the changes are not just all about the physical and aesthetic appearance of the site. More importantly, the redesign comes with a new feature that would automatically save account history so that users would always find it easier and faster to sign in back if they have temporarily stalled to take a short break.
However, it is not surprising that some other users especially those outside the US are yet to see the dawn for the redesigned login page. But those users were assured that there is no need to worry. First, the service remains reliable. Second, the redesigned version of the page would come their way very soon.
As expected, netizens from all over the world reacted differently to the latest redesign of Gmail login page. Some of those were positive while others were on the negative side. Moreover, whether users like it or not, the new login page would definitely stay until we all get used to it.
Just a few months ago, Gmail redesigned its inbox setup to make it more organized. It seems that several more changes would be coming to the service in the future.
