Gigi Hadid Nude Pics Leaked? Supermodel Threatens Legal Action

Supermodel Gigi Hadid has become the target of a group of hackers who are now trying to blackmail her with her own photos. Having accessed Gigi’s private iPhone photos through the use of iCloud, the hackers are threatening to leak all of her private images and videos if the model doesn’t pay up.

The hackers are also threatening to leak the photos they’ve stolen to various media outlets in an attempt to put further pressure on Gigi Hadid. However, the newly crowned Victoria’s Secret model has not paid and is refusing to give them the money that they are trying to extort from her.

Instead, Gigi Hadid has contacted law enforcement and hired a private security company to find and identify the hackers and is threatening them with legal action.

Now, many are seeing this as a need for Apple to take a look at their websites’ security, as this is far from the first time a celebrity has been threatened with leaked photos accessed through the iCloud.

Woke up with the biggest smile on my face. I didn’t want yesterday to end. So honored to be a part of the @victoriassecret show, can’t wait for you all to see it. Airs December 8th!

On August 31st of 2014, there was a huge scandal when nearly 500 private photos of various celebrities were leaked online, including many nude or compromising photos that were clearly never meant to be seen by the public.

Celebrities that were victimized in this leak included Jennifer Lawrence, Kate Upton, Kirstin Dunst, and Kaley Cuoco. While many others were also victims, some claimed that the photos weren’t authentic; however, these four actresses confirmed that the leaked photos of themselves were genuine.

While it is generally believed that the hackers in that incident accessed the celebrities’ personal data through the iCloud, Apple denied responsibility in a statement, saying “After more than 40 hours of investigation, we have discovered that certain celebrity accounts were compromised by a very targeted attack on user names, passwords and security questions… None of the cases we have investigated has resulted from any breach in any of Apple’s systems including iCloud or Find my iPhone.”

However, Apple still received much criticism from various journalists and tech pundits who pointed out that Apple seemed to be avoiding responsibility by blaming the users and not admitting that Apple IDs seemed to be all too easy to hack for those with the right tools.
