Galaxy S5 Google Play Edition Spotted

Now that most of the well-known manufacturers have released their flagships, companies will now release different versions of their top end smartphone. Almost every manufacturer follows this trend, and so will Samsung. Two new handsets have been spotted on different websites which means that these devices will soon hit the markets.

Samsung Galaxy S5 is probably one of the best smartphones in the market and according to new reports; Samsung Galaxy S5 Google Play edition and Galaxy S5 Mini are in the works. Given that the South Korean Giant released the same versions for Galaxy S4 last year; this news is not that surprising.

Samsung Galaxy S5 Google Play Edition

All major flagships like HTC One, Moto G have a Google Play Edition and according to a leaked image on Google, Samsung Galaxy S5 too would have this version.

The device was first spotted on the Google Play Store alongside existing GPE handsets from other manufacturers. Although the image clearly shows it’s the new Galaxy S5, the listing still shows it’s as a Galaxy S4. However, the new image resembles the new S5 as it has the same design, camera placement and heart rate sensor as the recently launched S5. Interesting, the image shows onscreen software as well as hardware buttons, but that may just be a mistake.

Anyways, the new image shows that the Galaxy S5 Google Play Edition is around the corner and it may soon release in the market alongside the original S5.

Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini

Along with the news about Galaxy S5 GPE, the mini version of the S5 too has been spotted online. The device was listed on Samsung’s official Finnish website. While the listing shows the model number as SM-G800, no other details of the device was mentioned on the website.

However, rumors suggest that the S5 Mini will come with a 4.5 inch screen with 720p resolution, Snapdragon 400 chipset and an 8MP camera. Also, the device is expected to be water resistant with IP67 rating just like its elder sibling.

A Galaxy S5 Neo model too is said to be in the works which will sport a 5.1 inch display and a 2.3 GHz CPU. Unfortunately, no other details of the device have been leaked till now.

Looks like this year too, Samsung fans will have plenty of options to choose from depending upon their budget and the features they would like to have. So, stay tuned to the website for more news in the coming months.
