Fossil Introduces New Stylish Android Smart Watch

Fossil Android Wear Line Up

Fossil is the latest company to jump into the crowded smart watch arena. Fossil’s flagship is named the Fossil Q Founder and will go on sale timed for the Holidays, with a $275 price tag.

The new Fossil Q Founder is round faced with a circular display and works with both Android devices and iPhones. The Q Founder needs to have a Wi-Fi connection or must be in a Bluetooth range of a smartphone for complete functionality.

Unlike Huawei, Asus, Samsung, Sony and LG, the current companies manufacturing smart watches, Fossil is a traditional watch brand, trying to compete in the scenario. The traditional companies have all opted to include Qulacomm Silicone inside their android smart watches, while Fossil and Tag Heuer are the only ones that are manufacturing watches with an Intel CPU.

We only know the smart watch’s specs from its teasers – it has an Intel process, a customized UI and some built-in fitness tracking options. Dubbed as “a powerhouse packed into an elegant package”, in the promos, it features a metallic body.

The Q Founder is expected to debut this Wednesday along with three other accessories, under a Fossil Q line up. With notifications for calls, texts, emails and messages, the touch screen display also keeps track of the number of steps you walk and calories you burn.

Q users will also likely be able to customize the LED flash colors for favorite contacts. Another Q curious feature reminds users to take a break every now and then, prompting users to try new things every now and then.

Earlier leaked images suggest that an odd black bar will be present at the bottom of the screen with sensors that adjust the display brightness according to the surrounding lighting, but is has not been officially confirmed as yet.

The stylish Fossil Q Founder retails for $275 for the holiday season.
