Flappy Bird developer working on a new game

Flappy Bird developer working on a new gameBack when Dong Nguyen removed Flappy Bird from the app stores, everyone thought that it would be the last time they would hear from the developer. But, a few days back, the Vietnamese developer came forward and revealed that he is going to launch a multiplayer version of flappy bird around August this year.

However, Flappy Bird 2.0 isn’t the only game that’s under development. Yesterday, Nguyen uploaded an image from his twitter account of a new game that he was developing. He has not yet revealed anything about the game like its name or gameplay; however he did say that the game would help users to forget about Flappy Bird.

“I am making a new game. So people can forget about Flappy Bird for a while.” said Nguyen.

It’s been almost three months since Nguyen removed Flappy Bird from the stores and now, the popularity of the game has gone down. At that time, millions of users played the game, however things have changed a lot since its removal. The number of Flappy Bird clones has also gone down drastically and now hardly any clones top the most downloaded list. So, the question remains whether the upcoming game would be as popular as v1.0.

The image does not say much about the game, but it looks similar to Flappy Bird’s gameplay. The image reveals a human with a helmet who’s jumping into a small opening. The opening can be anything, but some are saying that the gameplay would involve a human jumping from one building to another. So, the player in the image could be crossing a building.

Also, as the player jumps into the opening, there’s a special shadow effect which could be a visual effect of the game or it could be some sort of power that the user gets in the game. Unfortunately, Nguyen has revealed nothing as of now, and fans will have to wait for a while before he announces something or uploads it on the app store.

One thing that’s confusing everyone is the fact that Nguyen said he would reveal the next Flappy Bird game this August. And today, he tweets that he wants users to forget about Flappy Bird for a while. So, it’s likely that he would release this game before Flappy Bird 2.0, which should be any time before August.

Also, it would be interesting to see whether this new game turns out to be as popular as Flappy Bird.
