Reports have been circulating that 17-year-old Bindi Irwin, daughter of the late ‘Crocodile Hunter’ Steve Irwin and most recent winner of Dancing With The Stars, has been plotting to elope with her 19-year-old boyfriend, professional American wakeboarder Chandler Powell.
According to New Idea magazine, an insider told them that “Bindi and Chandler are madly in love and can’t wait to make things official,” claiming that the couple had secret plans to travel to Oregon for their elopement.
Happy birthday to a person who inspires me every day. A soul who makes me smile no matter where I am in the world, despite any amount of distance. Thank you for the endless hugs, late night conversations about life, holding my hand when a loud noise scares me and laughing along with all of my bindi moments. I’m blessed to be a part of your world❤️
The source cited various reasons for the supposed elopement, including the fact that Oregon allows marriages for 17-year-olds(with parental consent) and also that Bindi Irwin’s mother, Terri Irwin, is originally from the state.
Additionally, it is where Terri and Steve Irwin tied the knot themselves on June 4th of 1992. The source claimed that Bindi and Chandler intended to wait until June 4th of 2016 and wed on the date of Bindi Irwin’s parents’ anniversary.
The 17-year-old Dancing With The Stars champion has shut down these claims, however, saying that there has been no proposal and that she has no plans to elope with Chandler Powell. Her representative from the Irwin family-owned Australian Zoo stated that “It’s not true. There’s been no proposal… She’s 17 and coming back to Australia Zoo tomorrow.”
Instead of running off to Oregon to get married, Bindi is actually heading back home to Australia in order to celebrate her younger brother Robert’s 12th birthday.
The last photo ever taken of us as a family. The day before I had to wave goodbye to my hero, without knowing it would be the last time. But Dad, I know you walk beside me always and your strength lives within me. I love you.

As for Bindi Irwin’s mother, Terri, she has said that she has no plans to get involved with anyone romantically in the future herself. “I’ve had my happily ever after,” Steve’s widow said, adding that “I still feel immense love and loyalty to Steve.”
At the start of 2015, the famous teenager, Bindi Irwin, was already worth $3 million at just 16 years of age, due to her involvement in various television programs, including Bindi the Jungle Girl and Bindi’s Bootcamp. Her net worth can only have sky-rocketed following her recent success and bringing home the Mirror Ball trophy after winning Dancing With The Stars Competition.
