US President Donald Trump is on the end of yet another controversy as several pieces of Time Magazine copies featuring him on the cover surfaced online. Each Time Magazine copy were framed up in several golf clubs owned by the president. However, it seems like the Time Magazine cover is nothing but a fraud.
The Time Magazine cover featuring US President Donald Trump were found in five different golf clubs owned by the business mogul, says The Washington Post. The framed copies of the alleged Time Magazine issue cover were displayed in Trump’s clubs from South Florida to Scotland.
In an email sent to The Washington Post, a spokeswoman for Time Inc said, “I can confirm that this is not a real TIME cover.” Time has also asked the Trump Organization to remove the fake Time Magazine cover in the golf clubs but as of now, the framed covers remain displayed.
There was no Mar. 1, 2009 issue of Time Magazine, but there was a Mar. 2 issue. The cover wasn’t Donald Trump but it was Titanic actress Kate Winslet instead. In the issue, Winslet was praised for her Best Actress award winning roles on The Reader and Revolutionary Road.
In the Trump Organization of the issue, the headline on the cover says, “Donald Trump: The ‘Apprentice’ is a television smash!” Another quote seen in the cover, “TRUMP IS HITTING ON ALL FRONTS . . . EVEN TV!”
The Time Magazine did have Trump on the cover before and that was when he was made Time’s Person of the Year in 2016. Oddly enough, the Trump Organization could’ve used this in the golf clubs. It’s rather odd for them to choose the fake Time cover talking about Trump’s endeavour on TV rather than his actual Time cover featuring him as the Person of the Year.
