Jimmy Fallon, the comedian who hosts “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” who happens to host this year’s Golden Globes have made quite an impression on his peers.  His opening speech, meant to make fun of President-elect, Donald Trump, met the admiration of the NBC after-party attendees.

When he entered the halls of their NBC after-party, Jimmy Fallon reportedly threw his hands up in the air as the huge crowds applauded him.  He greeted Bob Greenblatt, the Chairman of NBC Entertainment.  They embraced each other as photographers got busy clicking their cameras to capture the moment.  Lorne Michaels and the Vice Chairman of the NBC Universal, Ron Meyer joined the celebration as well.

Days before the Golden Globes on Sunday , Jimmy Fallon warned everybody that there will be Donald Trump jokes.  He did not waste time doing so during his opening monologue, according to TIME.  In one of his jokes, he referred to the Golden Globes as one of the few places where American still honors the popular vote.  This referred to Trump’s victory over his Democrat contender, Hillary Clinton.

He also went on to talk about the HBO’s popular television series, “Game of Thrones.”  Fallon compared Donald Trump to one of the show’s villains, Joffrey Baratheon, reports LA Times.  Joffrey, the boy king in the series was a diabolical character who later died in season 4 due to poisoning.  Fallon wondered what it would be like if Joffrey still lived?  He added, that everyone’s going to find out in 12 days.  That is, as soon as Trump takes office on January 20 this year.

His jokes received boisterous laughter and applause from the audience.  It proved that the majority of the American people still thinks a Trump administration is a farce.  They just have to wait and see, maybe Trump wouldn’t be so bad after all.
