This past season of Dancing with the Stars has been ultra competitive, with a range celebrities from Nick Carter of the Backstreet Boys to Carlos PenaVega of Big Time Rush all proving that they’ve got what it takes to capture your attention on the dance floor.

There could only be one winner, however, and it was just announced that the winner of Dancing with the Stars Season 21 is Bindi Irwin!

Daughter of the late Steve Irwin, who may have been better known by his fans as The Crocodile Hunter, Bindi Irwin was a fan favorite from the start of the show and it doesn’t come as much as a surprise that she won. She charmed audiences across the world with both her smile and her dancing skills.

At just 17 years old, being crowned the winner of Dancing with the Stars is a very impressive accomplishment for “Bindi the Jungle Girl”, although her dancing partner Derek Hough certainly helped her look good on stage as well.

Even Derek was inspired by Bindi Irwin though, and said while they danced together she taught him that “you can have struggle, but you can struggle with joy.”

Throughout the season, Bindi Irwin was not only beautiful, charming, and graceful, but she certainly knew how to evoke an emotional response through her dancing as well.

One of her most memorable performances on Dancing with the Stars was a heartfelt tribute to her father, Steve Irwin, who passed away 9 years ago. He was as loved as his daughter now is, and the tribute Bindi Irwin performed was a beautiful way to express not only her own love for her father, but the love that the entire world shared for him as well.

The theme for the dancers that evening was “Most Memorable Year” and Bindi chose 2006, the year she lost her father in a tragic, deadly encounter with a stingray. She gave a beautiful performance in a contemporary dancing style and had the audience absolutely enraptured.

Talking about feeling her father’s spirit with her as she danced, Bindi Irwin said “Sometimes in rehearsals it feels like there’s three people in the room, I do feel as if dad is still with me everyday.”

We all know that if her father was still with her, he would be so proud of the beautiful woman – and beautiful dancer – that Bindi has grown into. As good as the other dancers were throughout this season of Dancing with the Stars, Bindi was undoubtedly the most deserving to win as she glided across the dance floor and into people’s hearts.
