Best Buy Announces Store Hours for Its ‘Black Friday’ Deals

Best Buy Announces Store Hours for Black Friday DealsThis year, Best Buy would open most of its stores earlier on Thanksgiving. The big box retail chain is set to open on November 28 at 6 p.m. The company has announced that over 1,000 of its locations across 47 states would open on the same time that day. Those stores would remain open for shopping until 10 p.m. the following day, ‘Black Friday’ (November 29).

The retailer’s 6 p.m. opening on Thanksgiving would be six hours earlier compared to its midnight opening in the previous year. The company said this decision was prompted by feedback from last year’s shoppers, who hinted that they prefer to go on shopping spree on Thanksgiving evening.

Best Buy is logically starting a new trend. It said it planned this year’s holiday shopping hours after considering several options. To entice shoppers to adopt its new Black Friday store hours, it would offer and roll out numerous ‘door buster’ deals throughout Thanksgiving night as well as into the morning of Friday.

Except in three states

However, Best Buy stores in Massachusetts, Maine, and Rhode Island would not open on Thanksgiving and instead would resume operations on Black Friday. Its branches in Massachusetts and Maine would open at 12 a.m., while its stores within Rhode Island would open at 1 a.m.

Those stores would observe different schedules from the rest of Best Buy stores nationwide due to existing state laws that prohibit conducting specific businesses on a national holiday. Moreover, Best Buy stores that are located in shopping malls would also observe different operating hours, still based on existing local laws.

Good deals for Black Friday

In a statement, Best Buy disclosed that this decision to open stores earlier on this year’s Black Friday would affect the company. However, its internal feedback reflected most employees’ willingness to serve more customers better and to obtain more successful holiday sales figures. It also reiterated that all hourly store employees would receive corresponding holiday pay.

Best Buy also announced that days prior to Black Friday, it would also offer early access to various holiday deals. Its Website, BestBuy.com would provide good deals prior to and after Thanksgiving. Those would last until the so-called ‘Cyber Monday.’

It does not surprise anyone that major retailers are now starting to announce their respective plans for Black Friday, which is an important shopping holiday event annually. Several days ago, Amazon.com kicked things off by launching its special store for Black Friday deals. The online retailer also announced its electronics gift guide for the holiday.
