Artist Transforms Home Into Elaborate Halloween House

Kids trick or treating in the neighborhood of Christine McConnell are in for a surprise trick or treat, however you may look at it. The multi-hyphenated baker, artist and photographer just transformed her parents house for Halloween. Taking inspiration from the movie “Monster House”, McConnell’s parents’ home is now a delightful spook.

McConnell is a very huge fan of Halloween, watching a lot of Halloween-themed movies and dressing up their home for this fun annual occasion. She spent four twelve-hour days at the home of her parents, coming up with the materials, painting and decorating.

So far, her Instagram post of the finished product has already garnered her over 24 thousand likes. After watching Monster House, Christine knew that the movie was going to be the theme for her parents’ Halloween home. They no longer have to think of a costume to wear for the festivities since their own house is already all dressed up.

McConnell labored over the materials, using foam-core insulation board and paint. She drew and cut out each of the pieces to use and hand painted all of them as well.

While she was busy working on the design of her Monster House inspired home, she made use of the time to bond with her parents as well. “I spent a good amount of that socializing with them,” she told the Huffington Post. “So it wasn’t all work.”

It has actually been a tradition for McConnell to decorate her parents’ home. Neighbors, adults and kids alike, look forward to how the McConnell residence will be decorated each year. She has already done large sized bats and ghosts, but this year has by far outdone the others.

“This by far is their favorite,” she said in an interview with Huffington Post. Her parents are impressed at the turnout of the decorations, with the large, bloody eyes, the fangs and even the spider webs. She even went so far as to light the house at night time to give it that creepy effect.
