Archos Brings Two 4G LTE Smartphones to Its CES LineupArchos is definitely introducing new products at the coming Consumer Electronics Show (CES), which would be held in Las Vegas this week. The Android device maker has announced the launch of two new 4G LTE smartphones along with its other lineup of products for the CES.

The company would highlight its Archos Helium 4G range on the event. This lineup would be its first ever set of LTE powered smartphones. It added that the devices would be running on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. However, those could possibly be upgraded to the latest Android 4.4 KitKat.

Archos’ 4G LTE lineup includes Archos 45 Helium 4G and Archos 50 Helium 4G. Both handsets would come with Micro SD card slot along with Micro USB 2.0 connectors for synchronizing and charging the devices. Those would even come with 1GB of RAM and video capability of 1080 pixels. Users could save their multimedia files in different formats like MP3, WAV, GIF, JPEG, and PNG. Of course, there would be support for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, and GPS.

Two new Helium models

Archos 45 Helium 4G stands 4.5 inches and features quad-core 1.4GHz processor. Its speeds would reach up to 150 Mbps. The device would have 4GB of storage that is built in, providing more room for saving photos and videos that could be taken and recorded using its 5-megapixel rear camera and/or its VGA front camera. Price tag is at $199.99.

On the other hand, Archos 50 Helium 4G is longer at 5 inches. It has a screen with resolution of 1,280 X 720 pixels. As a step up from the other model, its built-in storage is greater at 8GB. The rear camera is even more powerful at 8 megapixels. It would cost $249.99 when it is released in the market.

Common Android features

The new Android lineup would carry the typical features of popular smartphones. The devices’ users could download apps as well as games through the Google Play store. They could even surf the Internet using the Google Chrome browser and speak commands to the new Google Now. Other popular apps include Gmail, YouTube, Calendar, and Hangouts.

In a statement, Archos declared that the two new Helium 4G smartphones are expected to change consumers’ perceptions by having the best possible technology available at much more affordable price tags compared to the more popular handsets. Archos is yet to reveal release dates for the two smartphones.
