Apple releases iOS 8.0.2 update, issues an apology for the previous buggy release

Apple releases iOS 8.0.2 update, issues an apology for the previous buggy releaseApple had a very successful first half in September; however, things are not working as they should have around the end. The company is facing a number of issues, including the Apple iPhone Bendgate problem as well as the recent buggy iOS 8.0.1 release.

However, the company was quick to respond to the release and immediately pulled it back within a few hours. Now, Apple has come forward to issue a formal apology to its customers and has even promised the next update, iOS 8.0.2 which will fix all the problems faced by users earlier along with certain improvements.

Back when Apple released the first update to its recently announced iOS 8 operating system, users were pretty excited. In fact, many of them updated their new iPhones immediately as it started rolling out. But
little did they know that iOS 8.0.1 version created more problems than it solved, which caused panic among iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus users.

As we pointed out in our previous article, many new iPhone users who installed this new version faced a number of problems like losing cellphone network signal and Wi-Fi reception. Some even claimed that their Touch IDs stopped working after the update.

Apparently, even things like restarting the phone didn’t work which left users with only option to restore their iPhones back to the original iOS 8 version.

But going back to iOS 8 was also not the best option as it came with its own set of problems like healthkit apps not showing up on the App Store, problems with third party keyboards and photo access etc.

“iOS 8.0.2 is now available for users, it fixes an issue that affected iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus users who downloaded iOS 8.0.1, and includes improvements and bug fixes originally in iOS 8.0.1,” Apple said in an official statement. “We apologize for inconveniencing the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus users who were impacted by the bug in iOS 8.0.1.”

So, users should be relieved to know that the iOS 8.0.2 update fixes these issues as well as the recent ones caused due to the first update.

However, Apple has yet another problem to solve. Recently, some iPhone 6 Plus users have reported that their phones have bent after keeping it in their pockets. Some say that this is due to the device’s large but slim form factor which makes the aluminum body not so robust.

While Apple says that only 9 users have reported the issue to the company so far, recent videos and reports have proved that the body bends easily, which is definitely not good news for the company.

We will have to wait and see how the company reacts to the issue if more users start reporting this “iPhone BendGate” problem.
