AlDub Recap: Alden Finally Says ‘I Love You!’ To Yaya Dub – Full Details Here!

Calm your raging hearts, everyone: Alden’s declaration of love is finally here, and just in time for the holidays, at that! In the most recent episode of the highly tuned in AlDub sensation on Eat Bulaga’s segment, Juan for All, All for Juan, Alden Richards finally said the words “I love you” to Maine Mendoza a.k.a. Yaya Dub — who even gave Alden a kiss on the cheek!

The episode starts off with Yaya Dub finally meeting her father, Tatay Dodong. Dancing to Drake’s Hotline Bling, he made his way to the studio, insisting that his daughter address him as ‘Daddy Dod’ instead. Yaya Dub later introduces Alden to her father, referring to the former as a mere ‘friend.’ Daddy Dod pleads skeptical, saying, “Sigurado kang kaibigan lang (Are you sure you’re just friends)?”

When asked by Yaya Dub’s grandmother, Lola Nidora, as to why his appearance has drastically changed, Daddy Dod explained he lost weight — in addition to his formerly-curly hair straightening out — due to falling sick. He went on to share that, since they last saw him, he moved to Davao to establish an isaw (innards) restaurant. He claims his isawan now has 150 branches all over the world.

At this point, it seemed doubtful that Daddy Dod was truly Yaya Dub’s father, though the isawan part of his story remained intact, seeing as Yaya’s favorite food is isaw. In an effort to further establish his relationship with Yaya Dub, he prompted a dubsmash (lip sync) session with her.

After sharing a rather touching moment with her father, Yaya Dub pulled off another dubsmash of her own. Alden, being the only one who understood her, explained that Yaya Dub was thankful because her Christmas wish of seeing her dad came true.

It was then did Daddy Dod notice the closeness between Alden and Yaya. It was only after he voiced his suspicions did Alden ask for his permission to woo his daughter. Daddy Dod then questioned if Alden loved his daughter, telling the latter to instead tell Yaya Dub his answer.

Alden then spelled out “Mahal kita (I love you),” before finally saying, “I love you.”

Cue fan screams everywhere.

Recalling how things were difficult between himself and Yaya Dub’s mother, Daddy Dod advised his daughter not to be too rash like how he was with her mom, as they often ended up in arguments, prompting Lola Nidora to split them up in the end. Yaya Dub reassured her father that it would take some time before Alden received an answer from her.

Additionally, it was revealed that Daddy Dod remarried, and thus, Yaya Dub actually has a stepmother. Daddy Dod went on to offer Lola Nidora some financial help, as they had recently lost their mansion to Alden’s grandmother, Lola Babah, to whom they owed a debt. While Lola Nidora declined Daddy Dod’s kind offer, she did accept his help to assist Yaya Dub with her studies.

Then, Alden received a phone call from the one and only Lola Babah, who caught sight of Daddy Dod on the split screen. Daddy Dod offered to buy the mansion back from Lola Babah, to which she retorted he could buy back the mansion — if he went on a date with her. As he couldn’t fulfil that request, Lola Babah sold the mansion to someone else for P600,000 in the end.

The episode wraps up with Daddy Dod leaving for New York on a business trip. He tells his daughter that, in spite of the fact that he can never return again, he wishes to see Yaya Dub once more before Christmas.
