8-year-old Beats Baby To Death While Baby’s Mom Is Out Partying

A baby girl was viciously beaten to death after the eight-year-old boy who was watching over her apparently lost his temper because she wouldn’t stop crying.

The baby’s mother, Katerra Lewis, had left her baby with several children, ages ranging from two to eight, overnight while she attended a party with the homeowner at a local nightclub.

Upon returning the next morning, Lewis found her daughter unresponsive in her crib around 10:45 a.m. and immediately called the police. Unfortunately, Kelci was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Police investigation discovered that Kelci suffered from multiple injuries including severe head trauma and major internal organ damage that made it impossible for her to survive the attack.

According to reports, the eight-year-old “viciously attacked” Kelci Devine Lewis in the middle of the night when she wouldn’t stop crying. The level of the attack’s viciousness has left local enforcement stunned.

“This is an 8-year-old … and it’s hard to process an 8-year-old going to that extreme level of violence,” said Birmingham Police Lt. Sean Edwards. “It’s just really unheard of.”

The boy, who is currently under the Department of Human Resources’ custody, will be attending family court. There, “authorities will decide how to proceed with such an unprecedented case.”

On the other hand, Lewis turned herself into county jail but was later released after posting $15,000 bond. Although she is currently being charged with manslaughter for leaving her daughter unattended, Lewis has since been attending vigils for her daughter.

The senseless loss of Kelci’s life was later magnified when her grandmother revealed that Kelci was born prematurely and had fought to survive since birth. “She grew up to this little bitty precious angel and now this,” Callens said. “It hurts.”
