5SOS Afraid Of Justin Bieber: ‘We think Justin Bieber actually hates us!’

Are the 5 Seconds of Summer boys on the bad side of Justin Bieber? That’s what they seem to think.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight on the red carpet of the American Music Awards, 5SOS admitted that Bieber might actually be angry with them over member Luke Hemmings’ crush on Selena Gomez, Bieber’s on-again, off-again girlfriend.

“We think Justin Bieber actually hates us and we’re actually worried it’s because of this strange rumor,” said Michael Clifford, the band’s lead guitarist, after the boys were asked if they would be approaching Gomez at the awards show that night.

Hemmings added, “I’ve only met [Gomez] once and I just want to be friends with Justin Bieber.”

This comes several months after Hemmings’ admittance towards crushing on Gomez, with his bandmates adding fuel to the flame and saying he would often write love poems and had even built a shrine dedicated to Gomez.

5SOS are now a little concerned that Bieber has caught wind of this apparent crush, adamantly pointing out that they don’t want any trouble or misunderstandings and are simply insistent on being friends with the Where Are You Now? singer instead.

“We want to cut the beef,” said Ashton Irwim, drummer of 5SOS. “We want to slice it into thin cut beef.”

At the AMAs, 5SOS delivered a lively rendition of their hit, Hey Everybody!, before clearing the stage to make way for the next act, who else but Gomez herself.

5SOS just announced their newest single, Jet Black Heart. In October, they announced their Sounds Live Feels Live Tour, the band’s first full featured length world tour, to be held in 2016.
