4th Impact Still No Record Deal, Group Not Good Enough? Here’s Why Simon Hasn’t Signed Them

Louisa Johnson may have won X Factor UK this year, but she won’t be the only one snagging a record deal — runner-up act Reggie ’N Bollie are reportedly set to sign a deal with one of Syco’s sister labels on Sony Music as well.

“There is a lot of interest in both Louisa and the boys — they will both work with labels within the Sony family,” said one source. As the winner of X Factor UK, Johnson will automatically be signing with Simon Cowell’s Syco record label, with an album to be released next year.

Meanwhile, Cheryl Fernandez-Versini — mentor to Reggie ’N Bollie during their stint on the show — previously stated she wanted the duo to be her first singing on her own label. “I’m working with them on their album whether they want me to to or not,” she said. “I’m deadly serious.”

The mentor added, “Simon has offered me a label for years but this would be a good act to start with. I think Simon and I need to sit down and have some serious conversations about it.”

But what about the other ex-contestants? Che Chesterman, Lauren Murray, and all-girl group 4th Impact all remain unsigned as of late.

However, since their elimination, 4th Impact have been doing well for themselves, doing their own gigs at various parties. One of their recent stints was at a private gig somewhere in London for TalkTalk customers; reportedly, the gig had Sony executives sitting among the audiences. Additionally, Chesterman, Johnson, and Reggie ’N Bollie were said to be present as well.

According to reports, the gig was a good sign for the girls, considering they performed with the final three of X Factor UK. While there are no confirmed reports of a record label just yet, the gig was perceived to be a positive sign for 4th Impact.

Previously, Hello! Online reported 4th Impact intended to remain in London for the X Factor UK tour next year and “to make a name for themselves in the UK.” A good move, considering the girls are foreigners.

Furthermore, reports stated One Direction member Louis Tomlinson and X Factor UK judge Simon Cowell were working on new projects, with one of them reportedly putting together a girl band.

“I’m lucky enough to be working with Simon,” Tomlinson shared in an interview. “We’ve got a few different projects going on at the moment, one of which is we’re trying to put a girl band together.”

Could he have been referring to 4th Impact?

“We’ve said it before and we will say it again: we know that Simon Cowell is a massive fan of 4th Impact, so he could potentially sign them, or have them signed to one Sony subsidiary at the very least,” said Nick Barnes of Unreality TV. “Plus, with the fact that the girls are so talented, they have to sign a contract.”

Chances for the girls to land a record deal are big, but what do you think? Will 4th Impact be signed soon enough?
