2015 is almost over, and it’s time to say hello to a new, wonderful year! For film fanatics, 2016 is promising to shape up to be a great year with lots of amazing movies scheduled to premiere. Here are some of the latest trailers for awesome movies you won’t want to miss in 2016 – from superheroes to Disney sequels, there’s something for everyone to look forward to!

1. Hail, Ceasar!

In this comedy set to be released on February 5th of 2016, Josh Brolin plays a Hollywood fixer whose job is to keep movie star scandals at bay. When an actor that he is responsible for, played by George Clooney, gets kidnapped, it falls to the fixer to come up with the ransom money and rescue the star.

With a star studded cast that also includes Scarlett Johansson, Channing Tatum, and Jonah Hill, this movie is certainly one to be getting excited for!

2. Warcraft

For the gamers out there, Warcraft has become one of the most highly anticipated movies of the new year. Set to release on June 10, 2016, Warcraft is based on the video game series of the same title and delves into the backgrounds and origin stories of the war between humans and orcs in the world of Azeroth.

Travis Fimmel stars as the lead protagonist in the movie and is joined by Ben Foster, Dominic Cooper, and Ruth Negga.

3. Captain America: Civil War

In the next installment of the Marvel franchise, the Avengers find themselves in turmoil when Captain America goes rogue to defend his friend Bucky who is wanted by the government. With Iron Man leading the forces against him, the remaining Avengers are forced to choose sides and fight among themselves.

Being released on May 6th, 2016, Civil War will have Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johanssen, Chris Evans, Jeremy Renner reprising their roles as Iron Man, Black Widow, Captain America, and Hawkeye, respectively.

4. The BFG

Classic children’s storyteller will see another of his beloved tales adapted for the big screen as Steven Spielberg tackles The BFG. In the movie, a human girl named Sophie is kidnapped by a giant who turns out to be far less threatening than you might have thought – in fact, he is known as the Big, Friendly Giant or the BFG. Together, the two must work to stop man-eating giants who are invading the human world.

The movie starring Mark Rylance as the BFG and Ruby Barnhill as Sophie is set to appear in theaters on July 1, 2016.

5. Amityville: The Awakening

In Amityville: The Awakening, horror fans return to the house where it all began. The saga features a haunted house in Amityville, New York and the latest installment stars Bella Thorne who moves into the house, along with her family, where strange, demonic happenings begin to take place.

The movie was originally set to be released in 2015, but was delayed and will instead be released on April 15th, 2016.

6. Pride and Prejudice and Zombies

Based on the parody novel of Jane Austen’s classic Pride and Prejudice, zombies are thrown into the mix in this alternate tale where a plague has turned much of England’s population into undead versions of themselves. Elizabeth Bennet is re-imagined as a martial arts and weapons expert and she and Mr. Darcy fall in love with each other on the blood-soaked battlefield.

The movie stars Lily James as Elizabeth and Sam Riley as Mr. Darcy and will appear on the big screen on February 5, 2016.

7. Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children

In this upcoming Tim Burton film, a 16-year-old boy ends up on a mysterious island where he finds a group of orphan children. The children are more than just peculiar, and have different powers and supernatural abilities. Horrible creatures are trying to destroy the children, and the boy decides to protect them.

Asa Butterfield will play the main protagonist along with Eva Green who will star as Miss Peregrine. The movie will be released on December 25th of 2016, on Christmas day.

8. X-Men: Apocalypse

In the latest installment of the X-Men series, Professor X, played by James McAvoy, and Raven, played by Jennifer Lawrence, must lead a team of X-Men heroes against a terrifying new villain known as Apocalypse. Apocalypse is the first and most powerful mutant and seeks to cleanse humanity by destroying it.

The highly anticipated movie is set to release on May 27th, 2016.

9. Finding Dory

Ellen Degeneres reprises her role as Dory in the sequel to Finding Nemo that Disney fans have been looking forward to for years. Dory is the main character in this animated movie, which focuses on the forgetful fishes journey to find her family. Even though it’s been 13 years since Finding Nemo was released, the sequel takes places six months after the events of the first movie, on the Californian coast.

The movie will be released on June 17th, 2016.

10. The Legend of Tarzan

Tarzan is all grown up and far more civilized than we remember in this upcoming action-adventure film. The movie takes place many years after Tarzan moved to London to enjoy life with his wife, Jane Porter, until one day he is invited to go back to the Congo to serve as a trade emissary. Little does he know, Tarzan is just a pawn in a far deadlier plot.

Starring Alexander Skarsgård as Tarzan and Margot Robbie as Jane, the movie will hit theaters on July 1, 2016.
